CFP: New England Renaissance Conference (due September 7, 2021)

“PANDEMICS AND RENAISSANCES”

October 29-30, 2021

Boston College

Boston College Conference Center, Brighton, MA

Please join us in late October for a timely conference on the impact of disease, medicine, and healing, in both the past and the present. This year’s NERC will feature a Friday evening keynote lecture on Italian art, while Saturday’s schedule (9 am – 5 pm) will begin with a roundtable discussion of Covid-19’s impact on our own scholarship, followed by three panels, of which at least one will focus on research related to pandemics and community during the Renaissance (the others will depend upon the topics proposed by potential speakers).

Those interested in speaking in the morning roundtable, and/or in the afternoon panels, please send a CV and brief summary/abstract to Prof. Franco Mormando at BC (details in poster below).

There is no registration fee or other charges, but pre-registration will be required. Instructions for registration and detailed conference schedule will be forthcoming on this site in early autumn 2021.
